& How to Play Roulette!

Roulette Game Overview

Roulette is a very simple and easy to learn game. It offers a variety of bets and a combination of bets with both long and even odds.

The Roulette wheel has 36 numbers from 1 to 36, a "0", and sometimes a "00". Most U.S. casinos have a "00" as well as the "0" that increases the house's edge. So if you find a casino without the "00", then it is a better game. The numbers are colored red and black, but the "0" and "00" are green.

Most of the sample bets are described below. Also you can find the typical payout odds for many casinos.

Wager Payout Odds
Straight Up 35 to 1
Split 17 to 1
Street 11 to 1
Corner 8 to 1
Across 5 to 1
Dozens 2 to 1
Columns 2 to 1
Low or High 1 to 1
Odd or Even 1 to 1
Red or Black 1 to 1

Roulette Inside Bets

Straight Up Bet
It is a simple Roulette bet. You can place your chips on any number on the table. (E.g.: 0, 8, 29, etc.)

Split Bet
You can put a bet on 2 different numbers if they are next to each other on the board layout. To make this bet place your chips on the line dividing these two numbers on the table. (E.g.: 17 and 18, 28 and 31)

Street Bet
You can bet on 3 different numbers. You can do this by placing your chips on the line to the left of the first number in the series. (E.g.: 19, 20, 21. Bet must be placed on the left line of the number 19.)

Corner Bet
This is a combination wager that allows you bet on 4 adjoining numbers. To do this bet, place your bet at the point where these 4 numbers meet.(E.g.: 17, 18, 20, 21. Bet must be placed at the point where these numbers meet.)

Across Bet
This is a bet on six numbers made up of two rows of three numbers each. To make this bet, put your chips on the line to the left of the first number in the series and between the two rows of numbers. (E.g.: 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21. Bet must be placed on the line to the left of the numbers 16 and 19 and on the line that divides the two rows.)

Roulette Outside Bets

Dozens
When playing a Dozen Bet you place a bet on twelve numbers. There are 3 cases with the words "1st 12", "2nd 12" and "3rd 12" at the bottom of the board layout. To make this bet, you need to place your chips in one of these cases. Example: You win if you place a bet on the "1st 12" case and the number that shows up is in the first group of 12 numbers (1 - 12).

Columns
When playing a Column Bet you place a bet on twelve numbers. There are 3 cases with the words '2 to 1' written in them on the left side of the board layout. To make this bet, place your chips in one of these cases. If a number from within the column you are betting on shows up then you win. (Example of a column: 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34)

Low or High
This bet allows you to forecast whether you believed the next number to come up will be part of the range from 1 to 18 or 19 to 36. To make this bet place your chips in the cases with the related number range written in them.

Odd or Even
You can want to bet on the result either being a odd number, or a even number. Make this bet by putting your chips in the middle of the square marked 'even' or the square marked 'odd'. (E.g. of odd numbers are 1, 3, 5, etc. and even numbers are 2, 4, 8, etc.)

Red or Black
Similar to the odd even bet, this red bet is on the basis of whether the number will be red or black. Place this bet right in the diamond shaped areas on the face of the table, filled in with a black or red color. (E.g. of red numbers are 1, 3, 7, etc. and black numbers 2, 4, 6, etc.)
